The Rotary Adult Daycare Program of Mansfield
Memorial Homes is designed for Richland County residents 55 years of age or
older who may need assistance, supervision, and/or socialization because of
a physical, mental, and/or emotional impairment. Funding available through
the Ohio Department of Aging.
Through the Daycare Program, people are able
to live independently in their own home or with families. This provides them
with dignity and purpose in life and offers support to families caring for
older adults.
The Center operates Monday through Friday
from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants may attend half days or as many days
each week as they wish.
The program is supervised by specially trained
staff that strives to meet the individual needs of each participant. The Center
offers varied activities, which include arts and crafts, baking, field trips,
films, games, group discussions, speakers, group exercise, music, and spiritual
groups.
Medication administration and counseling
for the participant and caregiver are available. A complete well-balanced
meal is served at noon with special diets available if ordered by the physician.
Morning and afternoon snacks are served daily.
Everyone is encouraged to provide his or her
own transportation whenever feasible. Transportation is provided for those
who require it in a handicapped-accessible vehicle with experienced drivers.
A trained staff person escorts participants to and from their doors.
Participants are asked to give a donation
each time they attend. Donations are kept confidential.
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
are available at the Mansfield Memorial Homes Nursing Center by physician
order. The cost and treatment is separate from the Daycare Program.
In case of an acute medical emergency, the
participant's family and/or physician will be called. Whenever possible, The
Nursing Center will provide short-term, interim emergency care until the person
can be moved to the proper treatment source. |
